Last weekend Ashley and I did a wedding in my hometown of Montgomery, AL (See post below). While there my EXTREMELY large family got together to celebrate my niece and nephew’s birthday bash.

Getting Ready

We’re really not photographers as much as we’re storytellers. That’s why I like to start every wedding where the day starts: Make-up, hair, etc… By doing so we get a chance to get to know your wedding party while also documenting the start of the most important day of your life.

The below images were taken at one of our weddings in late 2009. These is a good sample of what our “getting ready” portion of the day ends up looking like.

These shots were taken with a Mamiya 330C.

Eleven Years Later…

Do you know my wife Ashley? She answers phone calls and emails, helps with booking, and keeps our office running like a well-oiled machine. Almost 11 years ago I met her at Baldwin Junior High. A year later we began hanging out. Seven years later we got married. And today, she is carrying our child.

Here are a few maternity shots I took of her this morning with the NIkon FM. I hope to take a few color rolls later and post them, too!

Film and Fancy

I like collecting cameras. I don’t have many, usually only 2-3 at a time, but I like buying unique little gems, using them for a few months, and selling them to make room for the next little guy. Today I got a new little 35mm camera called a Nikon FM. There’s nothing super special about it. They’re not rare, but they they do take really great pictures. Tonight I ran my first role of film with it, had it developed at Walgreens (yikes) and thought I would share three with you. The beauty in the pictures is my wife. She is the bomb.com

I may or may not have something up my sleeve for this year’s brides…

Adventure

I love adventure. You know, hiking, rafting, rock climbing, hunting, and raising Lab puppies. Last night my wife and I came home to find Noah (our 1yr old lab) hiding in the corner. This is what he had done while we were off enjoying sushi:

Thinking this accident was mostly from boredom I promptly woke this morning and took them to run at a golf course a few houses down from our house. Noah was willing to sit long enough to take one good picture. Literally seconds after I snapped the second picture he was making the faces you see in the third…

We all had a big time.
